FIM Speedway World Championship GP Qualification

Following the successful completion of 5 preliminary meetings, ballots have been made for the 3 rounds to determine the qualifiers for the Grand Prix Challenge and possible entry into the 2013 Grand Prix series. All rounds will take place on June 30th and look to provide some competitive racing.Vojens, Denmark features a strong Scandinavian contingent including Wild Card Michael Jepsen Jensen who will be looking to capitalise on his impressive appearance at the recent Danish Grand Prix in Copenhagen. Niels Kristian Iveresen and Grzegorz Walasek  are both former GP regulars and strong competition can be expected from Australian Davey Watt and hard riding American Ryan Fisher celebrating his recall to the USA team for the Speedway World Cup next month. At Lonigo there are appearances from current SGP stars Antonio Lindback and Hans Andersen and local Wild Card Mattia Carpanese will need to be at his best to qualify ahead of Polish favourite Piotr Protasiewicz and track specialist Matej Zagar.Divisov in the Czech Republic hosts the remaining round which features Chris Harris and Peter Ljung, both in the current Grand Prix squad, and World Long Track champion Jonas Kylmakorpi. Veteran Ales Dryml is the nominated Wild Card and could cause some surprises amongst the more fancied riders. The top 5 riders from each event will qualify automatically for the Grand Prix Challenge meeting at Gorican, Croatia on 29th September where a sixth qualifier from the Vojens round may be used if there is no Croatian Wild Card needed.Ballots
