The first day of free practices for this weekend’s German GP and eighth round of the World championship comes to an end on a positive note. Colin Edwards and the NGM Mobile Forward Racing Team have solved some of the electronic problems encountered in the last few races.
The morning practice presented itself with particularly good track conditions in which the Texas Tornado was able to end the session with the 13th best time, right behind De Puniet´s CRT and at little over a second from Valentino Rossi (11th). During the afternoon session the rain complicated things for the American rider, conditions in which he will have to keep working to improve the feeling when accelerating in these conditions.
Colin Edwards
“On Wednesday we found out we had a major issue electronically at Assen, the power that was delivered wasn’t exactly what was calculated. So they fixed that problem and I started to understand, even before I got on the bike, some of the problems that I was having in the last few races. It was a mistake, we fixed it and I knew that when we would get back on the bike it would be better and I would have more throttle control. It felt good this morning; everything seems to work and then this afternoon it rained. Whenever you have a problem it gets amplified by the rain, in the dry you can get away with it but not in the rain so we struggled in the afternoon. We still have to work on the throttle control in the rain.”
