The FIM Motocross World Championship comes back in action this weekend in Kegums, Latvia, to celebrate the tenth out of sixteen Grand Prix of the season. After the Grand Prix of Sweden, where Clement Desalle took the red plate from Antonio Cairoli and Tommy Searle cut his distance with Jeffrey Herlings, so both MX1 and MX2 championships are wide open.A part from the MX1 and MX2 classes, Kegums will also host the second round of the UEM EMX250 Championship, whose leader is Mel Pocock, with ten points advantage over second classified Jeremy Seewer and fourteen points advantage over Stefan Olsen, who is third in the championship.MX1Rockstar Energy Suzuki World's Clement Desalle left Sweden with a double heat victory and the red plate on his Suzuki machine, so he is landing in Latvia determined to do well and keep the leadership of the championship. Last year the Belgian rider finished ninth overall in the Latvian Grand Prix, but now he is leading the MX1 standings for just three points, so he knows that he needs to stay on two wheels and try to score as many points as possible this weekend.Antonio Cairoli, who got two DNF's in Sweden, is fully determined to repeat his 2011 performance in Kegums and win both motos and claim back the red plate. After the Swedish Grand Prix, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider admitted that he would have liked to race already on Monday to get the leadership back, so we may see the best of Antonio Cairoli this weekend at the Latvian track.Christophe Pourcel is twelve points behind Desalle and nine points behind Cairoli. The Belgian rider has been involved in different crashes in the last Grand Prix, but he has always been able to finish among the top ten. The British rider has improved significantly his starts and in the last two Grand Prix he has led most of the laps. Searle is more confident than ever and he is determined to win his fifth Grand Prix of the season this weekend and cut the distance with Herlings.Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Jeremy Van Horebeek keeps on being third in the standings even having had a DNF in the first race in Sweden. The Belgian was a bit disappointed with such result, but he was able to finish second in the second race, which gave him extra motivation for this weekend. Van Horebeek is full fit from his ankle injury, so he is ready to fight for the top step of the podium this weekend.Fourth in the MX2 class is Joel Roelants, who was back racing for the top three positions in the last Grand Prix. The Team Floride Monster Energy Kawasaki rider finished third in the first heat in Sweden, but he crashed in the second one and he missed the possibility for being on the podium. However, he recovered the good feelings on his Kawasaki and most importantly the confidence on himself, so he may be able to finish on the podium this weekend in Latvia.Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Jordi Tixier completes the top five of the MX2 point standings, twenty points behind Roelants. The French rider has been finishing among the top five most of the races, so he is now trying to improve his rhythm and ride among the top three when possible.Dylan Ferrandis moved from tenth to eighth in the point standings after finishing on the third step of the podium in Sweden.
