Rallye Monte Carlo heads home for Ogier

The changes spell the end of the rally’s association with the town of Valence, in the Drome region, which has hosted much of the event since 2007.
After three days of recce, from Saturday 11 to Monday 13 January, crews will drive over the ceremonial start ramp in Monte Carlo’s Place du Casino on Tuesday 14 January.
Shakedown will take place on Wednesday 15 January, on a 3.6km road at Chateauvieux, six kilometers south of Gap in the wintry Hautes-Alpes region.*
The competition proper will start on Thursday with a loop of three stages: Orpierre - Saint André de Rosans (25.53 km), Rosans - Sainte Marie – La Charce (18.00 km) and Montauban sur l'Ouvèze – Col du Perty - Laborel (19.37 km). The loop will be repeated in the afternoon after a midday halt at the new Service Park near Gap’s nautical stadium.
Friday’s leg is also based from Gap and will begin with the classic Vitrolles - Col D'Espreaux - Faye (49.25 km) and Selonnet - Col des Garcinets - Breziers (22.75 km).*
After a midday visit to the Service Park, competitors will begin the long drive to Monaco taking in the repeat of the Vitrolles - Col D'Espreaux - Faye (49.25 km), and the Sisteron – Col de Fontbelle - Thoard (36.70 km). The day’s final challenge is a night-time pass through Digne - Col de Corobin - Chaudon Norante (19.60 km).*
Saturday’s final leg is based on the roads north of Nice, with two loops of two stages, one by day and the other by night: La Bollène Vésubie - Col de Turini - Moulinet (23.61 km) and the decisive Sospel – Col de Brouis - Breil sur Roya (16.69 km).
The rally will end on Sunday, 19 January with the traditional awards ceremony at the Royal Palace in Monaco.
Subject to registration by the FIA, Rallye Monte Carlo is expected to be the opening round of next year’s World Rally Championship.*
